Revocup Barista in Overland Park, Kansas, Returns $2,500 Left Behind by Customer

Overland Park, Kan. — Revocup Coffee is more than just a place to grab your morning brew; it's a community hub where honesty and integrity shine. Recently, one of its baristas, Sam, made headlines when she returned an envelope containing $2,500 in cash that a customer, Cheryl Gates, had accidentally left behind.

“She found my envelope with $2,500 in cash in it,” Gates said. “And she returned it—I couldn’t believe it.”

Gates, who had come to the Overland Park location to meet a friend, had been carrying the cash to pay bills. When she realized it was missing, she was distraught. Fortunately, Sam’s quick action brought relief during what could have been a financial disaster.

“Sam found the envelope and called me at a time when I was so worried about how I was going to pay my rent and other bills,” Gates shared. In gratitude, Cheryl gifted Sam a $400 card to support her upcoming mission trip to Africa.
